About Our Association

The Mortgage Bankers Association of Florida is a trade organization composed of loan origination companies, servicing companies, and affiliated industry service providers. We have been serving Florida’s mortgage and housing industry since 1952. Our members adhere to a canon of ethics that calls for the use of sound and ethical business practices.

The Mortgage Bankers Association of Florida is dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the Mortgage Banking Industry through a proactive relationship with Federal and State legislators, industry agencies, and other housing trade organizations. Our members are kept informed about changes in mortgage laws and pending legislation. Our standing committees provide seminars, meetings, and general information for the purpose of education for our members and the public.

President's Message

President, MBA of Florida

It truly is with great honor and excitement I begin my year leading this incredible association. This position carries a profound responsibility, and I am humbled to have this opportunity. My theme for this year is Embrace, Empower, Evolve. With a dedicated and experienced Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and our Members I’m confident we can Embrace the change, Empower our Industry and Evolve to become stronger together.

I want to begin by acknowledging the outstanding leadership and dedication of our past president, Doug Leever. Under his theme of "Stay the Course," we kept our eyes forward on new ideas, grew and supported our membership, and fostered a vibrant community who uplifts one another.

As we start this new year, I plan to continue the phenomenal work Doug started with welcoming more loan officers and new members, and ensuring our association is a place all our members can come first, for ideas and information about industry changes and pending Florida legislation. I commit to providing you with the resources and support you need for the communities you serve.

We just completed our 19th Annual Eastern Secondary Conference and 68th Annual Convention in Orlando. With some modern changes to how we laid out the conference, terrific speakers and educational topics and some fun ways to engage with our members, it was a success! Some of my favorite takeaways were learning how to make every loan count, how Florida is at the forefront of Mortgage Banking Bound educating our next gen of bankers, how diversity will help our teams and clients grow, the amount of Florida CMBs in attendance, and the fun ring toss with some nice libations for the win!

Legislative Advocacy with Eric Prutsman as our Lobbyist. My goal is to have a minimum of 15 members attend Legislative Days this January.
Outstanding Networking Activities - both at the State and Local Level. Attend your local chapter events and get to know members in your backyard who can be a resource for you and your company.
Have your voice heard by joining a committee. We welcome new ideas and have room on our Convention, Education, Future Leaders, CMB, Legislative, Membership and our MPAC Committees.
